Mortgages for Your Home Sweet Home
House hunting for a charming Cape Cod? Moving on up to a deluxe apartment in the sky? Or maybe you’re already a homeowner and want to lower your mortgage payments. Whether you’re looking to buy or refinance, GEICO FCU can help. We understand that the home loan process can be daunting, but our team of experts will guide you every step of the way, from pre-approval through closing.
When it comes to mortgages, one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Credit Union Mortgage Association to offer a variety of first mortgage options that match your individual budget, lifestyle and goals.
Worried about market fluctuations? A fixed-rate mortgage comes with the reassurance that your monthly payment will stay the same for as long as you own the home, regardless of the market. It’s a popular option for first-time homebuyers or people who plan to stay in their home for many years. We offer a variety of fixed-rate loan options, with terms up to 30 years.
Adjustable Rate Mortgages (ARM)
If you’re planning to refinance or move again in the near future, consider an ARM. It has a lower initial rate, and after the fixed-rate period ends, your monthly payment may go higher or lower as interest rates change. Our programs typically provide an initial fixed-rate period of 3 to 10 years before the rate adjusts.
Federal Housing Administration Mortgages (FHA)
This loan type is backed by the federal government and is a program suitable for homebuyers who have lower credit scores or those looking for a lower down payment with affordable terms. FHA loans are only available on MD, DC and VA properties.
Veteran Administration Mortgages (VA)
A popular option for veterans, this loan type is guaranteed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. VA loans offer long-term financing with lower down payment requirements.
Loans subject to approval.
