In
any case, we will need your original signature on your

you enroll and receive your randomly generated password,
connect to our website at www.geicofcu.org, and select
the Online Banking login. Read the GEICO FCU Online Banking
Internet Service Agreement and Disclosure. If you accept
the terms of the agreement, enter your member number and

ask you to choose a new password, which you will need
to enter twice. Then you will need to log back in using
the new password. Once you are logged in, choose a function

To protect your account, we recommend that you DO NOT
USE the same password for different devices used to access

You must request in writing that a new randomly generated
code be assigned to you, which you must then change the
first time you sign on. All requests for a password MUST
contain your original signature. We will not accept requests
by email.
For
security reasons, credit union staff do not have access

GEICO FCU Online Banking?
|
|
|
A.
No, there isn't a special computer set-up needed for GEICO
FCU Online Banking; however, there are some basic requirements.
You
will need a connection to the Internet using the Internet
service provider of your choice. We require that you use
either Netscape Navigator or Communicator (version 4.0
or higher) or Internet Explorer (version 4.01 or higher)
browser. Either one of these browsers is able to establish
a special type of secure connection using SSL (secured
socket layer protocol).
If
you wish to use the Transaction Download feature of the
system, you will need Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer
6.0 or higher. These transactions can be downloaded into
Quicken®, Microsoft® Money or Excel.
Refer
to documentation supplied by the manufacturer of your
browser to prevent secure pages from being saved by your
browser, and empty temporary Internet and History files
periodically to prevent unauthorized viewing of information.
|
|
|
|
12.
Q: What are the minimum computer requirements?
|
|
|
A.
At a minimum, the system used should be an IBM-compatible
device (486 or better) and capable of establishing an
Internet connection at a modem speed of at least 14.4kps.
We
require that you use a specific version of browser software,
Netscape Navigator/Communicator or Internet Explorer if
you want to use the Download feature.
There
may be specific hardware to run your choice of browser
software. The manufacturer you are using can supply you
with detailed system requirements for their product.

|
15.
Q: What precautions should I take when using GEICO FCU
Online Banking?
|
|
|
A.
Take the same measures to safeguard your account information
while using GEICO FCU Online Banking as you would any
of your personal financial information. For example, do
not walk away from your personal computer or Internet-enabled
device without clicking Exit and closing the browser to
disconnect from GEICO FCU Online Banking.
Never
write down your password or select a password that can
be easily discovered (such as your birth date). Protect
your password as you would cash, credit cards or checks
— it is the "key"with which someone
can access your accounts.
Prevent
secure pages from being saved to your hard drive by your
browser by emptying temporary Internet and History files
periodically to prevent unauthorized viewing of information
on your hard drive.
Consult
documentation supplied by the manufacturer of your browser
for instructions on how to empty these types of files.
|
|
|
|
16.
Q: How safe is it to view my account information through
GEICO FCU Online Banking?
|
|
|
A.
When processing transactions or viewing account information
through GEICO FCU Online Banking, the exchange of information
is secured in several ways. Before you process a single
transaction through GEICO FCU Online Banking, your browser
and our server establish a secure communication channel.
The
process works like this:
First,
our server sends our security certificate to your browser
so it can verify that you are actually connected to GEICO
Federal Credit Union.
Then
your browser and our server each generate keys, which
are used to scramble and unscramble the information being
sent between the two. This scrambling (called encryption)
uses a special algorithm to hide the meaning of information
that is passed between your browser and us. Different
keys are generated each time you connect to GEICO FCU
Online Banking. There are other special features that
enable the scrambled information that you send to us to
only be unscrambled by us. Only certain specific browsers
are capable of establishing this type of secured connection
and they are the only browsers that can be used with GEICO
FCU Online Banking.
|
|
|
|
| 17.
Q: What happens if I enter the incorrect password? |
| |
A.
If you incorrectly enter your password 3 times in the same
day you will be restricted from using GEICO FCU Online Banking
for one business day. This is one of several security measures
that have been put in place to protect your account against
unauthorized access. |
|
|
|
| 18.
Q: What do I do if I can't wait one business day? |
|
A.
You will still be able to process transactions using other
services such as Voice Response, ATM or by calling the credit
union. |
